Hellen Almoustafa, a PhD candidate at La Sapienza University in Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology, holds a MA Degree in Artifacts Conservation and BA Degree in Archaeology from Aleppo University. During her education, she participated as a volunteer in several archaeological excavations.  Her interests focus on saving cultural heritage and the rehabilitation of damaged archaeological sites in the conflict zones, as well as on working to raise awareness among both the locals and the international communities about the value of their authentic heritage. During her internship at ICCROM-ATHAR, she will be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation this year’s Introduction to Documentation and Conservation of Built Heritage in the Arab Region course series. Furthermore, she will assist in the research of information aimed at our upcoming publications on Protecting Cultural Heritage in Times of Conflict.
